Advice for a friend (locations)
1. 5055 South Lindell Road
2. 3650 East Lake Mead Blvd
3. 2850 Silverado Ranch Blvd
4. 3700 E. Bonanza Rd
A friend of mine will be moving out to Las Vegas the end of March. She's looking for an area thats somewhat close to the Bellagio since she'll be working an internship there. She's looking for either a 1 bedroom or studio but main priority is a safe area. She sent me the four above addresses as places she was considering. It's tough since she hasn't been able to see it first hand. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Offhand two of these are OK two are disastrous. Send me a PM with how much she wants to spend and I will send you a couple of recommendations. Note that one skilled in the art can check out these places but it is time consuming and nobody is paying for the time.

The Silverado Ranch or the Lindell one is fine. The Bonanza and the Lake Mead are ok, with the Lake Mead one being a little more dangerous. I pass by the Bonanza one early in the morning every day, its quiet, and they've done a lot of renovations to it, so it almost seems like they will be becoming conversions. Also, they changed their complexes name to Spanish. I'd prefer the Lindell out of all of them.

Thanks so far, she's looking to spend I guess around $600 (give or take, she's flexible) but again only needs a studio or 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom.

Good luck in trying to find that, unless you look at Sierra Vista and Swenson (Crack Alley), but that is soooooooooooooooo undesirable.

I think it is possible for a studio...Try one of the apartment guides for 89147 and if not 89117. These are to the west of Bellagio but far enough to be pretty safe.

Personally, it doesn't make a difference to me. I know you typically get what you pay for and thats why I'll end up paying a lot more than she will. I'll be moving with my girlfriend in May and we'll be looking for a 2 bedroom apartment near 89129. I think the Boulders is the number one choice so far but unlike my friend, me and my girlfriend are going to fly out to Vegas the end of March to look at the places first hand. I think its definitely worth it to check out the places first hand if you can.

89129 was my zip too. You may even be able to rent a house there fairly cheap. I'd think Olecapt could help with that too.
