I know there are bad areas in North Las Vegas but is this area of West Alexander Rd and North Martin Luther King Blvd, an ok area to live? It would seem to be far enough north to be in decent neighbourhood. The surrounding neighbourhood is nicely kept and newer buildings. I have checked the North Las Vegas police site but it is not as good as the one on the Las Vegas Metro Site. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are nice houses in that area.

There is significant trouble in that area.

It is an area I would describe as needing local knowledge. Some tracts may be fine and others not.

North of Craig is clearly safer.

Agree north of Craig would be a better choice and so would west of 1-15.

I would have to agree with it being borderline between major problems and being okay. Question is do you have kids? I was looking in that area up until I found out about the High School (Mojave or Cheyenne I think) and immediately started looking further north and west.

Honestly if you are in the area, drive thru it this weekend after dark, that will probably tell you everything you need to know. If far away I suggest you take a road trip. My wife and I did the internet search since we were in Hawaii and figured we would get one of two houses, ended up with something totally different, you just don't know until you get in the area and walk around to get a feel for it.

Good luck either way

i've been at a house many times at MLK and Gowan, it was a very quiet neighborhood, the house even backed up to Gowan, seriously i don't think its as bad as the others are leading you to think, south of cheyenne, i think you may find problems...

I live near MLK & Alexander, my sub-division is really quiet and what I would class as a nice, safe area. We really love the area here, if you have any specific questions please feel free to PM me!

Jodie.
