Moving from Boston to Las Vegas
I recently visited Vegas and fell in love. I am truly thinking about relocating from Boston,Ma. I am wondering how the job market is out there for someone with a real estate salesperson's lincense. I have a child that is five years old. I really would like to know how the school systems are out there! I am really tired od Boston, and I need something new, I feel I can either succed or fail, I intend to succeed. I was thinking about moving to either Summerlin or Henderson. Positive feedback is grealty appreciated.
Thanks, J

Hi Janaki.
I also happen to live in Boston (Revere) and I also fell in Vegas the very first time I visited. I as well want to move from Boston ASAP, mainly because of the weather. I'm sick of Boston and crappy cold weather. No matter what tho, I'll always be a Celtics fan, a Red Sox fan and the Pats fan
Henderson and Summerlin are nice areas in Vegas, 2 of the best according to what I've read from the people who reside in Vegas, but those two also are the most expensive ones, I think.
Let me know how your journey goes. I wish you all the success man. I can't wait until I leave this damn cold east side.

Bunny D,
I understand what you mean by crappy weather. I cannot take the cold out here, even though I was born ans raised up here. I know Vegas can be brutal in the summer months; but its something I will have to get used to. I think if you can make in boston, MA you can make it anywhere!!

Couldn't said it any better myself. If you can survive in Boston, you'll do even better everywhere else and believe me, humidity in Vegas is almost non existent so even with all that heat it's tolerable. I was there last year in July it was burning hot but I loved it. You can breath normally unlike in Boston when you'll likely suffer from asthma.

I just moved out here from back east (Cranston, RI) and I love it here! With all the foreclosures out here homes are super cheap. I would imagine it is a tough time for real estate salespersons right now. If you have buyers I would imagine you could make some good money with the cheap house prices. So really I guess it would be a question of can you find the buyers? As for schools I've heard private is the way to go. All in all Vegas is a great place to live, I wish you all the best in whatever you decide to do!

On the other hand, the heat is tolerable for many. The longer you live in the desert, the easier it becomes. I'm the opposite, I cannot tolerate humid climates and feel much better in dry desert air. Especially this time of year where it's excellent. In the 70's and breezy.

Chronic Hay Fever and allergies - - - get ready. I developed both after living here 3 years. 4 out of 5 people here develop these conditions, but they are never talked about in the media when they promote Vegas in other cities. The heat is great for the first 3 years, then ...... it is intolerable. You are right - Vegas is like putting your head in an oven day in and day out!!! I did my time ... can't wait to leave. MLX

ahahah... you are in the wrong business if you want to move to vegas. Unless your head has been somewhere where the sun doesn't shine, Vegas has one of the worst real estate markets in the country, from both a foreclosure and a sales perspective. Stick to NE till the economy gets better.

If you own something in Boston, and can sell to cash out, it makes sense to move to Vegas and buy a foreclosed property. The problem is there is not much jobs available in Vegas right now. The economy is hit pretty hard, since the Southern California gamblers are not coming as often. Good luck on your decision.
