cheap apartments in las vegas? w/ "no credit check"?
i'm looking to move to las vegas in a couple weeks, but i'm having trouble finding a cheap apartment. i'm looking for a very small studio with a bathroom. the thing is, that my credit is not so good (i owe about $1000 on my 2 credit cards but, i will be paying about 80% of what i owe before i move). are there any cheap apartments in las vegas that offer "no credit check"? i'm going to be moving out with about $1,500 to $2,500. when i arrive, i will be looking for a job a.s.a.p. so i can start living out on my own. i will be moving into a nicer apartment once i start making enough money to do so, so the apartment where i would be living once i move out to las vegas doesn't have to be so nice. so, if anybody in the las vegas area can give me some suggestions on where to live in las vegas, let me know a.s.a.p.!

Probably the easiest route to take would be to look into some of the "budget suite" type of places that offer weekly rates. There used to be several near the strip that were in the $150/week range for a unit with a bathroom and kitchenette. They're not exactly the Mirage or anything, but you're not likely to find an apartment complex that's going to commit to renting you a unit without running your credit- unless you can give them 3-6 months rent up front.
Good luck,
Bob

I always found the apartments there to be very easy to get into. You should give it a shot at one of them before you go to other sources.

I'd also recommend Craigslist as a way to find a roommate (that's what I did). Most people looking for a roommate in their house/condo don't need leases or credit checks, just your money to move in with a low deposit. It's better than a cheap apartment because you're likely to find a much nicer place for less money than some crappy apartment in a dodgy neighborhood.
Here's the link for all listings:

Definitely look at the room mate angle. A lot listings on Craigslist are furnished and include internet, utilities and so on. They run from $300 - $600 a month, and some do weekly as well.

This whole thread is just....good grief
Yes....rent a room in a house....cheap and for $400-500 a month you get to live in a MUCH nicer neighborhood than you would renting your own place in which case you would be residing at like Fremont and Bruce
Anyway, don't worry if you don't have a car. Las Vegas has the best public transportation in the nation and its not like it ever gets up to 110 degrees so you wont have to worry about medical problems due to the heat or anything.
And I'm sure you'll find a job right away. I mean, not if the unemployment rate exceeded 10%, but of course this is Vegas so of course there are jobs everywhere
And thats all I gotta say
