i have read that CSN would be closing their learning centers, i can't remember where, it is a terrible idea...

i have already seen the effects in the CSN Spring schedule, which by the way is the last semester it will be printed on paper...most classes mainly now have less sections, more online sections, and some classes aren't even being taught every semester and many canceled at the last minute as well...

I just think it is sad. We all are hearing about the Car People wanted the money to be bailed out, but what about putting that money to our children's education. They will probably get their money and continue to pay their employees outrageous amounts of money, while our children suffer. I think I read somewhere that the people getting something like $75.00 to $95.00 and hour with their benefits. Is it just me or does that seem like a crazy amount?

I'm quite surprised by this too, I'd think there would be enough tax revenue from the casinos to keep the same level of funding into Higher Education. Nevada certainly does not have many higher education institutions either like other states, so you'd think the financial requirements to keep things running 'as is' would be sufficient, but cutting it, why?

Big mystery.

The auto industry. That industry is completely messed up. On one hand, I want to continue to see the automobile be made in America, as America is a VERY auto-oriented country with very little public transportation. Having those go under means we have to buy cars from other countries, which puts American money elsewhere and not in American hands.

However, on the other hand, our auto industry is so incredibly inefficient, costly, and just not competitive on any measure for the kind of car that Americans need to be driving - fuel efficient, etc.
