Dude I'd be more afraid if it was legal to carry a concealed handgun...then you don't know WHO could blow your brains out at anytime anywhere

Nevada is a permissive concealed carry state. Everybody gets the permit unless blocked by some legal shortcoming.

And it is legal to carry virtually everywhere. Certainly in Casinos and stores and such. Not in schools airports and buildings where it is signed out and which have a metal detector.

Whats gonna hold up better in a confrontation with someone else with a gun.....your fists....or another gun?

I live in Houston and I had an experience where someone tried jacking my car and I keep my handgun under the seat....he had a gun too but ran away when I pulled mine....I doubt his was loaded.

Either way, I would much rather that piece of mind.

Really? So Nevada residents dont even have to take an exam to carry?

Texas has concealed carry and something called the Castle-Doctrine which basically allows for you to carry a gun in your car, business or home for protection.

You have to take or have the course. But once taken you are covered. You must also register hand guns in Clark County and carry a reg slip.

Be careful about a gun in the car. Legal in the state and City of Las Vegas and unincorporated Clark County. Not legal in NLV and Henderson. Get a ccw permit.

Oh ya well I think everyone should have a CHL if they even own a gun. You would be surprised at the morons that take the class and hopefully they part with some knowledge after the class.

If your worried about all these problems; getting robbed, shot, having bugs in your appt. Then I think you should choose another place to move to, or sit an think long and hard about moving to Vegas. All cities have these problems, all small towns have these problems, like I said before you cant avoid it. You shouldn't have these many worries when moving to a place.

I'm not not going to move to LV bc of that and miss out on all the fun!

I mean in LV they don't even card you in the restaurants and bars in the restaurants for alcohol how great is that? And the women are friendly hehe. And those condos are super nice. There's valet everwhere you go it's great. And there's always soMething to do you'd NEVER get bored!

Miss out on that? I couldn't justify that for now.

And honestly I think crime happens to those who put themselves in shady situations. Like joining a gang or the mafia. Buying and selling drugs, pimping, being an escort could be dangerous, hanging out in the wrong areas late at night, making enemies with the wrong people, you know. I mean if you're a student who minds his own business and wants no trouble or beef with anyone I think you'd be fine.

Ofcourse anyone can be robbed but like one guy on here said it's mainly in apartment complexes and stuff and even then taking precaution like avoiding coming home alone late at night with your big purse on you while standing at front of your door finding your keys might be a good idea.

Or parking in the last spot furthest away from a shady mall where there are no people.

Or going for a late night jog with your brand new Ipod on your shoulder strap down the shady part of industrial road or the red light district.

Or stopping by the ATM machine and then counting your money while walking back to your car.

Or not buttoning your back pocket when your wallet is in it esp when in a crowded area.

Or not closing your blinds when it's dark outside and the lights are on inside with your plasma tv in plain view.

You know, basic stuff. Simple, safety-101 type info.
