Default moving back to LV

My daughter and I are moving back to LV and I wanted to know if the
downtown area has changed any sense we left six years ago?
It wasnt a nice area to live or work in when we were there? Can anyone
tell me if it has gotten any better? Would you buy a house near down town?

I work downtown and have for 22 years and I LOVE it....the FSE and all of the Casinos around it are nice....the farther away you get from the FSE, some of the neighborhoods get a little shakey....until you get to the Huntridge area [Charlestom/Maryland] I would definately buy in the Huntridge area and I did buy but a little farther away [Alta/Jones]

Huntridge and related area is fine if schools are not involved. With school age children that will attend public school I would think real hard.

I love Huntridge. But I have had a run in or two with the public school kids who walk thru the hood. The last involved broken windows, me screaming profanities and the police. If you've got kids, put them in the Catholic school or something. But since that brat was taken away in handcuffs, it has been a great neighborhood again. I'm sure he didn't live in the neighborhood anyway.

If you have kids and want to be downtown I would recommend a community with a guard gate or maybe a high rise where they have security. It is a nice centrally located area but the neighborhood is scary sometimes. Email Robert Adams at crehadams@gmail.com and tell him the area you want and he can send you some properties to check out.

I live downtown and love it. Single here, and an Urban Junkie. Most neighborhoods are transitional, but there are many die hards that would not consider living anywhere else. Its a mix of folks...I have moved a number of UNLV professors and other professionals into the neighborhoods in the Downtown area.

Would consider it if I were you. Your discretion with the schools. I am not the authority on that, as I do not have kids myself.
