My husband is union electrician. When we came here in August, there were about 300 on the books and it only took him about 2 to three weeks to get placed, luckily he is on a long term project, because he checked the books the other day and I think he said there were about 1100. That would take about 4-5 months at least to get hired.
I havent been so lucky, I have sent out hundreds of resumes, and had many interviews, and I am always told that because there were so many applicants to choose from, that there was someone more qualified. I have worked in retail management for over 20 years and ran million dollar plus stores. All Ive been offered is a part time 48.00 an hour position.
