Hi,

I wonder what website(s) you use to look for houses for sale. Is it realtor.com, craigslist, trulia, zillow, backpage, ...? Which is your favorite one?

From a former realtor, use Realtor.com without a doubt. Learn how to use the site so you can search by zipcode, price point, style, amenities, etc. and then learn how to save in your own account. Keep in mind that it is not kept totally up to date so you may get extremely interested in something that is not even for sale any longer. Once you get an idea of pricing and what you get for the money, get in touch with a good realtor in the area who will send you updates. We have an excellent source here on this site.

realtor.com without a doubt. I find it very up to date for Las Vegas, it even shows you on the listing when they last checked the MLS for updates.

I like ziprealty.com better than realtor.com, because it shows the taxes on a property and how long it's been on the site. Those and other little bits of information I can't seem to find when I search realtor.com.

Personally, I don't use any site that forces you to sign up to "view photos". They are an actual real estate company and I don't need them have any info on me.

From their web site: "We share information outside of our company only when necessary to administer products or services we or our subsidiaries may provide, when we have your permission, when required by law, ...."

I just call my agent and tell him what I am interested in looking at and he sends me emails with links to the homes that match what I want so I don't have to search all over for it. If you want his email PM me.

You're right, of course, I'd forgotten that they make you "sign up". That bugs me too, so I just gave them a bunch of fake information and remembered the username and password so I could look around whenever I want. lol -sorry I didn't mention that! To them, I am "Amanda Su".

Zip is good too because of it showing the taxes, LID's and SID's but I find it is better to deal with Realtor. com because it shows the days on the market and if I'm interested, I then go on the assessor site to find the actual taxes.

I would never trust someone else to search for me. No one is going to care as much or be as thorough as you. That said, having them send info on new reo's and new listings is very helpful. With that info, I then use the MLS # to check them out further on Realtor.com and if of interest, can save them in my saved listings.
