89052, 89074, and 89123 are in Henderson, south east side of the strip.
89138, 89135 and 89144 are in Summerlin which is very very nice area but quite expensive. 89138 is very new area while 89144 is older.
89139 and 89148 are south west of the strip. I live in this area. It's not as nice and green as in Summerlin, but it's very affordable, safe and close to almost everything. I don't think you would go wrong with any of these zip codes.
Traffic to Las Vegas BLVD can be pretty bad depending on when you have to go to work.

Thanks for all the info From_LV and lvkewlkid. I will check out all those zips.
I'm about to go for my 4th interview. I've spoken with two Recruiter/HR guys, plus twice the VP I'd be reporting to....assuming I get the job. Wish me luck. I'd love to get out of Georgia.
What rent can I expect to pay for a 3/2 townhouse or condo. It must have a large (garden/roman/oversized) tub in the master bath and allow cats?? I don't care about good schools or near a hospital, but I do care about traffic noises and zillions of kids in the neighborhood!

If you're originally from Ohio, I'm still in Ohio waiting for my house to sell so I can relocate there. From my years of looking at neighborhoods and areas out there and since I will be buying a house, I tend to prefer the northwest and southeast. That being said, whichever of those I chose, it will not be one of the denser areas where the houses sit only about 10 feet from the street and have only 5 feet between them. Download the map and then drive the good areas and see what is comfortable for you.

Crime in Las Vegas
It turns out that low crime and high income/home costs correlate. So any place in the green or yellow works. Pretty much the same for schools though you don't care about that I think...

sorry, but 89123 isn't part of Henderson...
the SW is also very nice as well...
you probably should be looking at what's called the South Strip area, tons of condos are there, not sure the rent range and not sure if they allow pets, but i'm sure you'll find something...

You could look up on www.realtor.com or http://www.lvrj.com/realestate/ for rental property.
lvkewlkid is right. 89123 isn't Henderson i forgot, but it's south of LV blvd. It's right next to Henderson.
Actually, Southern highland is nice as well.

Thanks again LVers! The recruiter suggested Southern Highlands and Anthem areas, as well as Summerlin. He lives in Southern Highlands and says his commute is about 15 minutes, but his office is not in the Venetian. Any comments?

Anthem is very nice too, but quite far. Should be about 30 mins with no traffic.

The kid has a very high batting average on urban Las Vegas.
I would suggest you stick to 89123 and 89183 which is the south strip area. That is good country for condos and such. Lease for 6 months or a year than buy someplace like southern highlands or Anthem.
Start off convenient and get to know the lay of the land before you commit to a buy.
Get a place in one of the mid rises out Vegas Blvd.
