So I'm pretty sure what I'm going to hear, but I want to ask anyways. How are the waitressing/bartending jobs out there? I know about city center. What about Hooters Casino Hotel? Are they always hiring? (I've been a Hooter Girl for 3 years in 3 different stores) so that would be okay.. not my first choice. First choice would be like Hard Rock or Palms.. Give me your thoughts

The appropriate hooters can sometimes override that. (Not on guy like you, airics...I can hear the wheels churnin' in your brain )

just curious...when hooters girls become old ladies, do they then look for work at an establishment named 'droopers'?

Sorry to veer off topic here...but the whole hooters thing seems just so high-schoolish. If you're proud of your hooters, and want to show them off...and make the real big bucks...why not just go into stripping in LV? That's where the real hooters money is...and it probably doesn't really matter who you know in that field, as long as the equipment is right.

You either have to know someone and be cute or don't know someone but be smart, sassy, well-knowledged on drinks, alcohol, and professional service, and HOT AS HELL to get anything like the Hard Rock or The Palms which are EXTREMELY competitive. Hooters is less competitive, but much less money as well. They are always hiring new cute girls, so give it a show

Seriously, I think you should use your Hooters contacts and take a job there first just to get out here. That does a few things, gets you out here and gets you established as a Vegas resident. Then 6 months from now use the contacts you made to get you in the door at The Palms etc.

I can GUARANTEE that Hooters will NOT get you in the door for The Palms. Not a chance.
My roommates ex-gf is a cocktail waitress who got a job cocktailing at LAX at The Luxor(one of the most coveted cocktail positions in the industry) as soon as she moved here from Chicago by coming here with fine-dining cocktail experience, solid knowledge of cocktails, and most importantly, her personality. She wasn't even great looking, go figure
For a shot at a place like The Palms or The Hard Rock, the first prerequisite is at least cuteness. Then, personality(intelligent, friendly, happy, bubbly, etc) Then, product knowledge.
You will also need professional headshots(search craigslist for photogs, not too expensive usually)
Then network, check the casino employment centers, and make as many calls/emails as possible...
Anyways, good luck

Didn't say that Hooters gets you in the door....I said the CONTACTS you made by getting to Vegas and starting at Hooters might get you in the door at a higher end place.

Personally I'd recommended coming with a job in hand at Hooters rather than getting here and being out of work for a year. Then see what the market will bring.

Well I am extremely gorgeous (and humble) as I am a glamour model. That's why I want to move to Vegas. WI can't do anything for my career and Vegas has less competition and is less expensive than LA. That is why I choose Vegas. I've been there a few times, done a ton of research. I just need a job to support me while I'm there.
Honestly I don't care for the Las Vegas Hooters. They are/were up for sale and I don't think they are going to last too much longer. Then again - It would give me some casino experience.. maybe?
I do have a great personality - I've had customers go out of there way to tell my managers, and even call corporate to compliment my service and attitude. I love interacting with customers y'know..
Cocktails.. now I am a beginner at that.
Now I do know how much money I could make as a stripper (so I've been told many times) but I would have to lower my standards and that's something I just don't know about.
That's my situation.
