Laughlin
The most common Laughlin-related advice I've received - and I've received this tip a lot - is not to go even one mile an hour over the speed limit when you're passing through Searchlight on the way to or from Laughlin. It's a notorious speed trap.

If you're going to Laughlin, make a stop at the Terrible's in Searchlight to play Bowlingo. It's a mini bowling alley and games are a buck. Fun! I wish they had Bowlingo machines here in town.

Years ago there use to be a free tour bus to laughlin called BUNNY EXPRESS....that was like about 12 years ago, and cannot find it here on the internet anymore, is is probably history by now? They drove u down and did commentary about the highlights along the way, an gave a free buffet at the Colorado Belle Casino....so the cost was really just tipping the driver when returning to Vegas, and hopefully u won that and more while in Laughlin.

That Bowlingo game is absolutely one of the most addictive of the mechanical bowling game ... when it is working.
Bowlingo was a product of Mendes ... a Quebec based company that has ceased operations.
AMF is now out with a similar product.

You can check out freevegastours.com, alllasvegastours.com and destinationcoupons.com for free or almost free bus service from your hotel to Laughlin. I have also heard that a bus picked up at Excalibur, but you need to call first to see if a free bus still runs from there. Although I love Las Vegas, Laughlin can be a very nice side trip and a total change of atmosphere. Hope you have fun!

Bear in mind Vegas sits at 2165 in altitude, and Laughlin at 700, which accounts for the 5-10 degree temperature change any time of the year.
For me, January would be a good time to go when we're freezing here in Vegas, that 5-10 degrees additional warmth would be nice.
I once researched bus transportation to Laughlin a year ago, and they do have buses that go down there, as I received the route information and time of leaving and returning, and I believe it was very cheap to go and return.
I believe the bus left around 8AM from VEgas and returned about 8pm at night. But I lost the sheet of info, unfortunately.
If you call any casino in Laughlin or the Laughlin Tourism bureau, they'll give you the more exact info on how to bus it down there.
