I have a feeling that it is company policy and probably has alot to do with current market conditions. I know for a fact that alot of companies won't even look at applicants with prior mortgage industry experience regardless of qualifications. I believe the fear is that if/when the market bounces back the applicant will rush right back into it, abandoning the prospective employer.

You planning on putting your RE license to work at all once you move out?
