I live in an apartment and, of course, they do not allow any car maintenance on the property.

Does anyone know of a craft shop or someplace similar where you can rent a space to do your own car repairs? I remember years ago, when I was a teenager, dad was Army, and they had a craft shop on the base we used all the time.

I did some google searches and didn't find anything. I really need to get some work done, but I have no place to do it!

Thanks,
Michael

Nellis AFB, does have an auto hobby shop just like you remember from your childhood. I assume you are not military or you would know this. Maybe you can ask someone working at Auto Zone if they know a place.

dynal, your best bet would be to make some friends that have houses with garages. Where I live, they also say we cannot do auto maintenance on property. But almost everyone does it anyway. Plus we do have garages where we do the most work. Some still do it right out in the open. Not good with nazi HOA's.

Also, if you cannot find any place to rent a space from, why not open a place devoted to that? Of course you may not always get the best clientele.
I like Kalbos idea above. Ask someone at Auto Zone.

you could always rent a large storage unit that fits a car and has electric.

A shame I don't live around there. I'd gladly let you use my garage.
I don't think there are usually places available just for doing your own car repairs, unless you are a member of a car club or something.
I hope you can find someone around there who will let you use their garage. A co-worker maybe??
