Two of the worst ghettos in town - Naked City behind the Stratosphere and "Crack Alley" (as VegasRex calls it) south of the Convention Center/LVCC are less than a mile from Sky. I don't know if there have actually been seven murders there in the last sixty days, but there could be plenty of underreported killings in places like that. But Sky itself is fine, right on the Strip with lots of police presence and nothing but tourists walking around outside. The biggest risk is staring at that insane clown next door all day long.

I mean dude it's just a nightmare the lvmpd site will tell ya ALL of las vegas is SATURATED with robberies, assaults, batteries, homicides, laceny, narcotics, auto theft, rape, etc. etc.
Even the safest place (the strip) is covered with these incidents if you look at the map on the lvmpd site.
I mean I'm on the fence about it. Here we don't lock our doors ever. No one does. Nothing of this caliber ever happens.
But at the same time a lot of people do live in Vegas and haven't been murdered.

Your assumption that the strip is the safest place in Vegas is laughable. Take a look at Centennial Hills (89131,89143) on the crime map. Maybe 10 incidents in the past 60 days, most of them minor disturbances.

Those zip codes are in the City of Las Vegas. And by Las Vegas I mean the actual city of Las Vegas, not the 3 square mile area you consider to be Vegas. They are nowhere near the strip. They are in the extreme NW part of the valley. Please keep in mind that there is much more to Vegas than the strip. Calling the strip the safest part of Vegas is ridiculous. FWIW, I would imagine that south strip (Warm Springs and Las Vegas Blvd S and beyond) is likely the safest part of the strip.

Yeah but for me Vegas is the strip bc that's where I'll be having fun mainly.
The strip is like the heart...the central most important part...
On a completely different note:
Do your cars get really dirty bc of the sand and dust? How often do you get them washed?

Dude, after all this time you are just NOW looking at crimeview maps for the neighborhood that you want to live in??? Wow, for someone who claims to be so smart (3.7 GPA, you said, I believe?), that's definitely not good research methods. You're all "c-rnked" up on living on the strip, and it never crossed your mind that the crime rates might be higher than the rest of Vegas? Way to do some research before moving from wherever the heck you are moving from! Wow, that's just a little bit scary there.
And seriously? to quote you directly "by Vegas, I mean the strip" - dude. Vegas encompases way more than the strip. The City of Las Vegas alone has over half a million people.... that's not including all of Las Vegas that is technically Clark County - almost 2 million people.. all in all an area of about 133 square miles. Do the math. Demographics (Official City of Las Vegas Web Site)
If you are so dead set on moving here, you really need to open your damn eyes and realize that there is more to Las Vegas than a three-mile strip of flashing lights. People actually live here, have jobs, raise families.. like any other city in any other state.
I honestly don't know why I'm even wasting my time here. Oh, that's right, because every two minutes I keep getting an email with more garbage being spewed out of your mouth, or stupid ass questions that someone who is supposed to be so smart and on a pre-med track cannot even be bothered to do basic empirical research on.
You think the strip is the safest place in all of Las Vegas? Oh please. for someone who claims to be so damn smart... wake up kid. Do you realize how much of a douchebag you are making yourself look like?
I'm done. I really hope you open your eyes and realize that maybe this isn't the right move for you. I've already seen you start to second guess yourself.. snap out of the dream sequence already. Welcome to real life. You are gonna have one hell of a ride if you keep it up like this.

Dude chill I have the freedom to move to Vegas if I want to you can't stop me...
And the strip basically is Vegas bc that's where all the fun is and people go to Vegas to have fun (like me)
The truth is that Vegas is NOT like any other city. I mean dude where else would bunny ranch be legal? And green door be popular, and the shows, gambling, restaurants
I don't see a casino from where I'm from...or any of the other stated above.
Most cities don't have people handing out cards with women on them on the street or legal bunny ranches or topless shows or such nice hotel casinos or billboards with a girls booty haha
Vegas IS different. That's why it's the only Sin City! Haha. Gotta love it.

Are you kidding me. FIrst off, Moonlight Bunny Ranch is in Reno. Not Vegas. A couple of hundred miles away. A Bunny Ranch wouldnt even be allowed anywhere near Clark County. Why? Oh let's see... 'cause prostitution is i illegal. Again, way to do research there, budddy!
The closest house of prostitution is in Nye County... yup, probably what? 90 minutes away... yes, you can get that stuff on the strip. But it's not legal. So go ahead, take a chance.. I'm sure OJ can use a new cellmate.
I'm not stopping you from moving. Stop putting words in my mouth.
FWIW, there is plenty of fun things to do in Vegas that don't involve the strip. Ask anyone local on here. Then again, i'm sure you don't pay attention to that, since your world basically encompasses those three little miles.
Done!
