Lol, why not? Is there a electrified fence around CH I'm not aware of? It is generally a bit quieter in wealthier neighborhoods but don't mistake that to mean there's no crime going on. Nor does hearing some police cars mean there's a shootout on the next street.

It is actually pretty rare. YOu get a deal on the 95 once in a while but not very often...and the circling helicopter. I heard the one the other night on the 95 and it was some pretty big deal. That is probably the first one this year.

I actually find the helicopters to be more of a nuisance at night. Even though well removed from any major artery we can be awakened by those dudes over Durango or 95 or even 215.

Has not happened in a while though.

When we first moved here many years ago and were renting in Desert Shores we came home to find our tract blocked off by the FBI with full swat team present. Turns out the guy who owned the house right behind us robbed banks in his spare time.

I hear it once in a while. I see and hear the helicopter at least once a week it seems. I prefer to know that these guys are doing their job, then never hearing them at all. Sometimes I think the air guys are just putting their hours in, I don't usually see them using the spotlight. I did once. Now that I think about it, I think that was the night we were skinny-dipping. j/k

I do not find the cop sirens to be anything out of the ordinary for me, living near a main freeway.

If you are near the 95 you are going to hear police cars...that's all. Most of the time it's pretty quiet.

Also...I've called about the helicopters before...9/10 they are looking for a stolen car. Again when you live off of the freeway you are going to see more of that. And as we are close to the top of the list for stolen cars it's normal stuff really. Last year my kids elementary school went into lockdown because some guy who stole a car abandoned it and broke into a home across from the school creating a hostage situation. The homes in the area are all nice custom homes.

I don't sit around worrying about everything. It's life...you never know when you will be in a freak situation. Going with the odds CH is a pretty great and safe place to live.

I just wanted to add that you see crime like this in any big city. My parents live in another state in an area you would think would be safer but honestly you see the same stuff happening there.

It probably had something to do with the shooting on Charleston/Rainbow, which is close to the 95.
We hear sirens now and then and are not bothered much by it. When they come into my neighborhood, it's usually someone having a health concern because the ambulance or firetruck is really what arrives.

We did have about 10 cop cars last summer for the naked guy in the street. I didn't know it took so many cops to subdue an unarmed and unclothed guy.

We do see and hear the helicopters sometimes and lately more of those sight seeing one's going around. Probably heading to Mt.Charleston.
When we lived in The Lakes, constant helicopters, they would fly so low the windows always rattled. I thought they would break under the pressure. Hated those! At least we don't have that problem anymore.
