I haven't even made to the strip yet between Mt. Charleston, Red Rock, the wetlands and all the other outdoor activities.

The majority of these street performers on the strip are scammers with prior convictions. They are dirty because this is the lifestyle they choose to live. Once they are arrested for excessive trespassing from a property. Each one plays the sympathy card hoping to get a free pass out of trouble. Just remember my words when you reach into your wallet to tip a buck or two and the street performer spots that your loaded with $. Another block later your wallet is lifted by their buddy. You don’t find out until you attempt to find your wallet when it’s time to pay your next restaurant bill.

Probably a true statement. This also sounds like a personal experience of yours...

If I am entertained(laughing/shocked) by some random felon then my money($1 or less) was well worth it. If I get robbed later on down the street then I deserved it. I should have known better than to make whatever mistake I made to draw attention to myself in that way. Anyway...I hardly carry any cash on me and I don't look like the type anyone would want to take a chance with. Not that I'm some big huge muscular guy but I do work out and know how to not stand out in a crowd. Learned this while living overseas. Its a great skill to have during those anti-American demonstrations.

Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo to the political compass thread being shut down. Now all those poor people looking to move here won't know the political compass of Las Vegas residents!

I agree.

Felons earning money by dressing up and letting people take their picture for money?

Not mugging, not burgling, not stealing, not fencing, not dealing.

Wouldn't we call that a step up on the perp ladder?

John Wayne Gacy used to dress up as a clown and perform.

Not a crime. He was convicted of his crimes.

Not a crime...but definitely a lure. Even Nancy Reagan sat on his lap!

i think all the performers and card snappers (and the beggars) should be individually licensed and it should be enforced.. bet it would get half of them off the street.

A step in the right direction.....I think that's what the mayor is proposing for downtown.....I have no problem with the honest buskars and think they can actually be a welcome addition....
