Another bad thing is aluminum. LVD, drink bottled beer whenever you can!

Also non stick coatings on cookware.

A friend was telling me about microwave popcorn. Discovery Health "Microwave Popcorn Risks"

I know, but the cheap beer only comes in aluminum cans. Hopefully, if things get better for me financially, I will only drink champagne. Ah, I would be in heaven....

So this is what has been going on in my front yard. My daughter planted these from seeds while I was deployed, around March.

First set above.

Couple weeks later above.

Last month above. Now the next set is two weeks ago to today.

Yesterday and today.

All the sunflowers are over 4 feet tall with the exception on two, which are over 6 feet tall. Come to find out that my daughter planted Mammoth sunflower seeds. They grow an average of 6-8 feet, some have been recorded up to 10 feet. Now I am just waiting for my HOA to tell me to get rid of my tall "weeds". I have a total of 14 growing. If I would have known that sunflowers were this easy to grow, I would have planted some a long time ago, in areas that I actually wanted them to be planted. I also have about 15 in the backyard that are growing at a rate of an inch and a half each day.

@Von Ha, awesome! I love huge sunflowers...until the weight of the seeds bend the tops back to the ground because I'm too lazy to pick them.

My daughter is anxious to eat the seeds but Im not sure if they are edible. I will test them out first.

I think two of them will end up like in this video. Even I think this is a little too big for my front yard.

I think it's so much more rewarding and fun to grow things from seed!

This guy shows when and how to harvest the seeds.

Makes me want to try to do it this way. Maybe next year.

I have to say there is some strange paradox here with a self proclaimed alcoholic worrying about BPA leeching from plastics.
