I'm the opposite, I inhale my food. Depends on my mood, sometimes a 15 minute break is all I need, other times when there's lots of difficult customers, 30 minutes is better

Publix is real good about giving breaks to their checkers and courtesy clerks, usually if you work at least 4 hrs you'll get a 30 minute break, if your shift is longer than 6 hrs you'll get a 1 hour break, unless the store is real busy like during thanksgiving week, then everyone gets 30 regardless of how long their shift is. I personally prefer 30 minute breaks, after one hour I feel lazy and unproductive and that's less money in my pay check

It's been real interesting now comparing Publix to Smith's. Since liquor cannot be sold right in the store, Publix has adjacent liquor stores attached to the main store. Publix purchased a lot of Albertson's stores back in 2008 just to have more liquor locations here in FL and they have pretty much driven Albertson's out of FL with only 4 Albertson's stores left in the entire state

One good thing about Vegas when it comes to supermarkets is there's variety, lots of places to choose. Smith's will always have my business when I move back this coming year though. Between them, Vons and Albertson's smiths has the best prices, better selection and service. Publix has a monopoly here pretty much, it's just us, Wal-Mart, & a store similar to Fresh and Easy called Aldi

Plus it would have been nice to get a little longer to rest my legs since I had to stand all day. I quit after 2 weeks and went to another factory where they gave us 30 minute lunches and two 10 minute breaks in an 8 hour day. The bonus was that I could walk to it in 15 minutes so that cut down my traveling time.
IN an 8 hour day here, you are supposed to get 2 10 or 15 minute breaks and a 30 or 60 minute lunch. I never take my 15 minute breaks and 30 mins for lunch is enough since I eat here. I wouldn't want an hour lunch, that just ads an extra 30 minutes to your work day.

A couple of people below were talking about "bucket lists". I've pretty much completed all of mine, except I never became fluent in three languages and my young adult son still needs some guidance. It's a good thing that I've accomplished or experienced most of the list since people in my family do not live long. We definitely did not get the longevity gene.

What's your bucket list, and how do you balance your current existence with saving for your future?

Had to pick this up. If my daughter does not like it for Christmas then I can use it.
