She wasn't on her phone, by the way.

I was using my cell phone as a mounted dash cam for a while. Non eventful trips were deleted afterwards. I agree with the sentiment and caught a few very close calls on video. I just remembered I still have a bunch of dash videos from when I went to big bear lake. Seeing them again makes me feel like I'm there.

The whole reason I was out was to go to the dealership to sign the last piece of paper for financing.
On the way there, no less than 10 cars pulled out in front of me. I've been driving under the speed limit, hypermiling the car to save money. I was getting 6mpg over what it's rated for. The dash display was reading 7mpg over, but actual fill ups said 6. Anyway, I avoided all the other morons. I don't know what was up, but no one could drive last night.

What really sucks is I just got my tags in the mail. 344 wasted dollars. I am just glad I wasn't on an expired 30 day tag with an unregistered car. I did get gap insurance this time, so hopefully it gets totaled and paid off.

Now, if anyone knows a good lawyer that doesn't charge 33% off the top, please dm me with the details.

Accidents are such a pain. Do apply the lawyer screws, though. Perhaps her car insurance company can be made to pay up where pay is due.

Get someone decent, EA. There's a chance the insurance company will fight paying out since the driver did not have a valid license.

On the phone with her insurance right now.

Edit: Lovely, she has a low limit on her policy.

Why is this legal??????? Limits that can't even cover a single new car sold in the country let alone the average car.

You're supposed to be a Chick Magnet, not a Crash Magnet.

Why doesn't the law mandate that minimum liability car insurance cover accident damage the insured could cause? I agree, that should be US law/particular state you live in law!
