Aqua, just curious to know, what kind of dogs are the "iggies"? I have a dorkie and a daschund. Both are spoiled and unruly. I would be busted my first day as a renter. lol

No, I hadn't yet. It's proving to be interesting to have all the dogs here in a small apartment.

Vegas is a nice place. Unfortuantely with high unemployment, Vegas in 12 months will have depression like numbers. Our town is totally dependant upon the world coming to Vegas and spending their money. Without this, we are surely going to die. Just look around, home values dropping, stores closing but yet crime is down. Don't let this fool you, this is the calm before the storm. When people's unemployment checks run out, crime will be at a all time high. Our clock is clicking down. I am not mocking Vegas, I am just giving the facts.

I wasn't making reference to you. I was referring to the Xfiles person. The picture you paint for the near future of Las Vegas is startling. I am not sure that I agree with your premise that decent, law abiding citizens will resort to crime. Most criminals are not receiving unemployment benefits.

I'd bet that Vegas will not recover by 2010. California has to recover first, and on top of that, unlike any prior depression/recession, California has a substantial number of its own casinos (2nd only to Las Vegas).

You better go back and look at your posts about how easy it is to find a job in Vegas.

Not to be rude but California is financially at the very bottom rung given the fact that the state is virtually bankrupt. Las Vegas, let alone, Nevada is nowhere near bankruptcy like the state of California.

This poster already retracted his statements about the ease of finding work in Las Vegas.

I got an idea how about improving your lot in life where you come from instead of having unreasonable expectations when moving out here. The casinos already have enough uneducated pool of people to chose from.
You sound like one of the uneducated pool of people you mention. Basic economics tends to look at population growth as a positive sign for the local economy. Especially if people with higher educations move in. Also, more people, more more spent in the city and more tax revenue for the city and state. Is the water all you really worried about?

I drove past the City Center. I think it's hideous looking. Will it get better ? It reminds me of a scene from a 1930's film. Not sure about the plot, but someone surely ends up ripping his tights on a piece of metal ? You know, some wild eyed guy with stringy blond hair. Perhaps I am being too harsh ? I don't know. Atomic Architectural design was far more interesting than this visual cacophany. Call me an old fossil. I don't mind.
