That outdoor mini golf was really weird. I wish they would have kept Scandia or build one just like it! That was nice and it would take awhile to get through one whole round. It took about 10 mins to do one whole round at The Putt Place. Good thing they let us do 2 rounds for each price. (half price from groupons.com)
The new Sweet Tomatoes location, just across the lot is a new Sammy's Woodfired pizza plus Yogurtland. Too bad I didn't live close to that area. They sure have tons of things to do over there.

Hey, you only live twice(or so they say), one life for yourself, and one for your dreams. Go for it man. You sound like you'll make it work no matter what. Years ago I drove out to Vegas, had only 4 or 5 hundred bucks in my pockets. Different circumstances for me for sure, but within a week I had a job. And i was no "go getter", more like "a slacker". I'm very familiar with the word "go" though. But it's usually followed by the word "Away". Hey, good luck!! Now, I'll go away.
I took a leave of absence of 28 days which goes into effect two weeks from today
I plan to come to LV for that time to try and get a job, Im going to get a health card as well. I know its going to be hot when I arrive but I am from FL and I can handle the heat
You are very brave to do that! Good luck with your job search.
Good luck. Sounds to me like you are motivated and do have a little to fall back on. I too am planning a move all the way from Costa Rica with my wife and 7 yr old son. I haven't lived in the states for 14 years. I couldn't come back a few years ago when the economy was booming because I never could have afforded housing. It is now the the houses have dropped can I actually afford to come back. I'm not doing anything crazy like selling my house in C.R. and burning my current boss. I am a good, valued employee and I gave him almost two months notice and he waxs nice enough to tell me I had an open door to come back whenever I wanted. I am leaving my house rented out to a very reliable person for a liitle less than market value but to have someone trustworthy is priceless. 75% of my rent will be covered by house in C.R. As far as bills are concerned my son goes to private school for $600 a month, electric for an air-conditioned 1100 sq. ft house runs at least $400 a month and my water bill is close to $75. Cable and internet run about $70. C.R. is now very expensive, not like when I moved here in 1996. I found a nice 3br condo in Green Valley off Horizon Ridge for $850 a month and several others in the $950 range. Apparently those places fall into the best school district and my electric should run about $100 to $120 a month. I have no guarenteed job because I have to apply for my licenses first to actually get the job but am very confident that will not be a problem. I had great interviews while I was up there last week and have been in contact with them since returning to C.R. As long as you leave yourself enough money to return to Fl. as I will for C.R. I think you have nothing to lose except for a little time and money. Same as me. I feel that is worth the risk rather then questioning myself for the next year if I didn't make the move. Calculated risks are worth taking as long as you can deal with the consequences and if after 30 days you can return to Fl. with a little damage to your pride and wallet but can live with it go for the move. Good luck to you. I am prepared to commit to a year to follow my dream and if it turns to a nightmare and can deal with the consequences. I can't deal with remaining stagnate wondering what if for the next year!!!
Wear sunscreen, bring water, wear a hat to protect your head...bring a snack to keep the energy up and blood glucose from getting too low, but most of all
Have a wonderful day at work!!
It was a good day, but I'm dead tired. I had some wonderful water at the CVS Pharmacy at Flamingo & Mountain Vista. No food until I got home. I always wear a hat. I have high bp.

Like I said even a low end job would be enough to get me started here, and if I am scraping by on minimum wage, I'll be where I want to be in Las Vegas. Life is not all about money you know. I WILL succeed one way or another
Do you know what you want to do longer term and what you want to study? Don't forget that the NV University system is not very good. It's certainly not as good as the FL University system.
Making money is not the sole objective in life, but life isn't good when you barely have enough to get by. I agree that, after a few months, you'll realize that LV is not that much different or better than other places.

LV may be just be like every other city, but the point is I want a new start, and I want to do it somewhere exciting, I want to meet new people, do things I haven't done before, explore new things. Im not gonna go through life just sticking with what I know. I have faith in God that he will provide for me wherever I end up living. Btw I don't want to live on the east coast anymore. Im sick of it, and besides it's always been a dream of mine to live out west
I dont know what I want to study as of yet. Once I start attending CSN I plan to take my prerequisites before I decide on a major for the remaining 2 years I am in college. You have pointed out to me several times that the education in Nevada is not as good as it is in FL, and that may affect me in the future but I dont want to be in Florida anymore
And like I said I wont be barely getting by forever. I've always barely gotten by, and I've been just fine, and I grew up poor so I know what to expect and I know how to be frugal with my money so I think I'll be all good. Times might be tough but I WILL pull through
I am just going to post this. I have met Davie and he is a great guy who is very ambitious. Really, he is me 15 years ago back in 1995 when I was 20 years old. I have even told him I wish I was more successful myself as I would take him in because he really wants to live here, and is willing to sacrifice whatever he has to live here. Unfortunately, I personally am a failure in life and I can not help him like I wish I could. Regardless, I hope everyone can relate to him and be SUPPORTIVE instead of being negative.
