So Davie, when's the ice cream party? Do you work for Mirage or Ben and Jerry's?? Better pay I hope.. and don't forget as soon as you turn 21, get into a casino...

Things are looking up for me also... I just got promoted (as of last night) to the Main Cage.. the good is more moola, the bad is back on probation for 90 days since it is a new position.. wonder if i can take a 91 day vacation...
CONGRATS AIRICS! Way to go my friend!!!

And I got a call yesterday from a friend of mine who's been laid off for the past 3 weeks, she got a job at the Social Security Office on Buffalo for more pay than what she was making at her former job as a office clerk type person for some kitchen remodeling place in North Las Vegas.

Pay is $2 an hour more than what I am getting at Vons. I work for a company called "Fifth Avenue Restaurant Group" they are contracted with MGM. I plan to work for them Friday, Saturday and Sunday, their busiest days. If Vons doesn't like it, tough! Went and took care of the hiring process today, the manger made a copy of my SS card to make sure I am not an illegal immigrant, said he'd call next week

BTW I just go back from the Courthouse, my fine from the car accident is $400

Amazon.com: Dean Vendetta 3.0 Electric Guitar, Classic Black: Musical Instruments

$700 list -- commonly $500 -- $200 when you do "add to cart"

I got lucky a few weeks back when it was only $150.

Downside? Two months to ship it, plus you will probably want to replace the pick ups, reviews are great for everything except the pick ups.

Back in this sauna called Michigan. Egads it is humid. You sweat just thinking. My backyard is a complete jungle. Obviously, my kids slacked on that responsibility. Supposed to take care of it the last two days, but, alas, lucky for him, it rained both days. Made it a real steam bath here. Yuck. My daughter's excema was completely cleared up in LV, back the minute we landed here. Plus, her asthma is acting up after nothing for a month. 2.5 weeks and I am back in LV. Not soon enough. Only real positive is seeing my kids and the babies.

People are supposed to live to their 90's to 100's. But most do not. Lifestyle factors, smoking, drinking, not exercising, no greens on their plates, etc, all play a role.

In my family, several of my relatives died younger from food caused diseases. Stomach cancer being number 1. My Dad died at 70 from lung cancer and stomach cancer.
It's not normal to die from these things, but society as a whole thinks it is. I am not part of that thinking.
True, but genes do play a role. G'ma lived into her 90s just fine, other g'pa still going, just celebrated his 95th. Grew up on eggs, meat, potatoes, smoked, had a few drinks now and then, still does. Sharp as a tack and still tries to drive. He has some arthritis which makes it a bit hard. Don't know if I wanna live that long, but it is good to know there are good genes in the family pool. Then again, anything can happen, I suppose.

Congrats on your new job, airics.

I'm at my sister's place, we'll see how long I can maintain my sanity.
I spoke my friend Greg earlier, and he said that they managed to rent another house. He's going to talk to his wife about bringing me back. He just wants to get settled first.

Today was my last day with the Census. One of the big bosses got pissed off that my Crew Leaders brought me back w/o his permission. They were great bosses. They gave me money for clothes, and one of my bosses took me out to lunch three days in a row. The official reason that I got laid off is that there's a "lack of work", which is BS, since they're still pumping out the last little bit of it.

You'd think that this was a professional job, since it's the federal government running the show. Wrong, it's the biggest case of swinging dorks that I've ever seen. Personalities play into everything, and a boss have you fired if they don't like you.

I was on the books from 5/4 to today, and actually worked roughly 3 1/2 weeks due to their screwing up finger prints multiple times. Am I eligible for Unemployment Inssurance?
