Yeah, and I'm still laughing. There's not a chance in hell that that happens.

It all will depend on whether Ben keeps QE2 going until June. Regardless, crude oil will be higher by June. It might not be $150, but it will be more than it is now, mark my words.

That is awesome. I thought my car did good on gas (35 MPG), but you get double what I get.

72 mpg is awesome. The best thing about high gas prices is it pushes people to make smarter decisions about what they drive. The worst thing about high gas prices is diesel fuel hits $5/ gallon and the cost of getting a truck load of groceries delivered goes up 15%...that is totally uncool to my wallet.

At the peak of gas prices, I began the practice of hypermiling. Even when gas went back down, I still practiced the concept. I tracked my "before and after" the hypermiling and was getting abot 35mpg before...and my highest of 44mpg after...so it does work. However, I put safety first...and don't draft behind trucks, as some diehard hypermilers do. We use a 2008 Honda Civic for our work commute of 50 miles (each way) to work on the NYS Thruway...so hypermiling has saved us considerable money. However, since I continued hypermiling when gas prices went back down...I will feel every pinch of it going back up.

I know you get good mileage but if you get a serious hit from a truck or an SUV, it's goodnight forever. I mention this as I have read posts about the LV drivers leaving a little to be desired. Personally I'd rather be safe.

Yea the insight doesn't look overly small but I wouldn't drive a smart car unless there was a steel cage installed inside.
