I am assuming because of the lighting that the clouds appear to be green.

Yes, if they're low enough, they do glow green. Do they drink regular or diet Mountain Dew?

Green clouds are often associated with severe weather.
Green Clouds and Thunder Storms
This phenomenon occurs frequently in the mid-western part of the US.

I see what you mean. I thought the lights might have changed what the clouds look like. We see green clouds here during thunderstorms also.

In the midwest, green clouds mean storms and maybe turn into the Wizard of oz. Here in Vegas, the green clouds mean it is a reflection off of the MGM grand.
