Has anyone else had a bad experience with Terrible's Gas Stations?

It cost me over $500.00 to get my fuel pump replaced and the gas tank emptied and a new fuel filter because the gas I bought had 20% Ethanol content (twice the maximum) according to my service advisor. Terribles have refused to pay anything.

I guess I will have to use Shell or BP as something is not right at Chevron.

Yikes, I use Chevron only in my cars, andI filled up mainly at the TERRIBLE'S Chevron across from The Palms on Flamingo for the past year, maybe this is why I just spent $2100 re-sealing my Subaru's engine and replacing oil gaskets and other BS.

Thanks 4 the tip, I've got some research to do

My work truck likes Chevron or Shell gas. If I put anything else, it will ping under hard acceleration and has less power when I'm climbing a grade (like 215/cheyenne/lakemead area). I only go to the Chevron on Cheyenne and rainbow and never had a problem. How did they know they had 20% ethanol? did they test it at a lab?

I hate to tell you this but your service advisor scammed you. I have been getting gas once a week at the Terrible's Chevron on Warm Springs and Eastern for over a year and a half now. I have a 1991 Ford Escort so if it would have damaged it, it would have done it by now. In fact, I use premium and my car runs much better than when I bought it. It used to stumble and idle rough. Within 2 weeks it was running perfect and I did no mechanical work on it. I do not see how even running too much ethanol could damage the fuel pump anyway.

I've never heard of 20% ethanol. That's terrible. I mean, really, it is terrible. Is that required in NV? It wasn't when I lived there.

I use either Shell or Chevron 87 octane in Arizona (not Terribles' Chevron). If I use any other brand the truck has low mileage and low power.

We really need to power our vehicle fleet on natural gas, and stop burning it for electricity. We need to get our electricity from nuclear power. Nobody ever complains about the Palo Verde nuke plant near Tolleson, AZ sitting right outside of Phoenix.

It's 1006pm as I type this, and time to tune into the Open Lines for the West Coast with Dr. Bill Wattenburg (KGO 810) who will answer all your questions on nuclear power and vehicular fuel

I use to listen to his show in San Fran when I lived there. I do not get KGO that clear here in Las Vegas, even at night... but KCBS comes in better. I agree he is one smart cookie!

unless your mechanic is a close personal friend who is actually looking out for your best interest i wouldn't believe a word that comes out of his mouth. i can't tell you how many times i've had a mechanic tell me i needed work done when i didn't really need it. i've also had mechanics that when i needed and payed to have stuff replaced they didn't do any of the repairs, but said they did.

just be cautious. this happened numerous time when i lived in las vegas and one chain of shops was even under investigation by the police and local news for these practices.

Ethanol will corrode engine parts over time, I doubt one tank would cause any problems. I have a flex-fuel F-150 and can only get Ethanol (E85) at Rebel, not Terrible's. Your fuel filter might have just been old and overdue to be replaced, causing problems in your fuel delivery system.
