Current Las Vegas is catering to the 25-35 year olds, that's the largest age-group I see on the Strip every week. They want luxury and lavish-ness. They want uber nightclubs and high end everything.

Hotel themes of the past just don't appeal to this younger crowd, that's why themed properties are slowly being phased out.

Me personally, I like the themed hotels.

Vdara & Aria are asking for $180 + per room (up to $8000 per night) - let's see how long those prices hold up.

V 3.0 died before birth. V 4.0 is on the way!

I disagree completely (but do enjoy hearing your point of view).

The Wynn made an impression on me from day one. I used to go there often when I lived in So Cal. When I moved to the other side of the country, I reflected on my visits there and longed to go back. It is rare to be in a place with such attention to detail, luxury design and classl! I love going in to see the Ferraris, the coffee served on the casino floor is wonderful, and I never have to inhale cheap cigarette smoke. Instead of looking at whimsical paintings of a king (as in Excalibur or Luxor)... I FEEEEEL like a king

Agree! I think v4 is going to look like v1. Good gambling, good value, good time.

As has been previously announced, the Luxor is losing its Egyptian theme, so that it can become a clone of the Palms. I'm just waiting for Cris Angel to pull off the ultimate illusion...getting the Luxor to change its shape from a pyramid into something else.

That's just what we need is another Palms...

And yet again more things for local teenagers and children are closing down (if the Luxor does close all of its attractions), yet they wonder why gangs are becoming more and more prevalent...

The reason why the Luxor is pulling the Egyptian theme is that they want to appeal the same crowd that hangs out at the Palms. I miss the Nile themed canal ride that they had when they first opened. The only reason to go to the Palms is for the IMAX theater. I took my mom for their buffet a couple of years ago for mothers' day, and aside for one middle eastern dish, the rest of it sucked. I've had better food at McD's.

I went to the one at the Luxor the other day, right at the tail end. I'm losing my touch, I couldn't finish even one plate! I'll have to stay away from the pizza next time. Oh well, I wasn't paying for it.

Palms buffet used to be great when they opened. It was a meat lovers paradise. That was before they become too cool for school.
