...car rental. Anyone used Fox car rental in Las Vegas? Rates seem lower than everyone else, just wondering if any good/bad experiences with them.

I used them about 3 years ago. No problems at all. I also had my son use them on his honeymoon, there was a issue about the cost, but it was quickly resolved to our satisfaction.

Personally I think the BBB is a joke and would never go by their grades to make a decision.

What rating system do you suggest as an alternative?

I won't argue that the BBB is great. But a negative BBB is certainly a heads up. Now a good BBB - that does not mean much.

The BBB will give a company a negative rating just because they are not members. Is that fair? No, that's a scam. People think the BBB is some kind of government agency, it's not. It is supported by member dues....hence a non member gets a bad rating while a member gets the benefit of the doubt.

Again I pretty well concur with the BBB - one of the three might have a complaint but two of the three have large numbers of complaints and are likely bad news.

I would suggest using those two may well lead to unhappiness.

YMMV

Without knowing the volume of business they do, you can't really say.

FYI, for others who are not aware of how the BBB's shenanigans work:

If you are a dues paying member, you can essentially wipe complaints off your record after a certain period (specifics depend on the local BBB franchaise's policies, typically 6 months). If you are not a dues paying member, complaints are generally permanent. Which is how they strong-arm businesses into becoming dues paying members.

The BBB is right up there with DeBeers for just how much of an amazing job they've done at hornswaggling the public.
