Default pro. drummer moving to Vegas looking for work

Hi, any professional musicians out there in working bands that can give me advice on how to find a steady gig in one of the casinos? Is it union? Are most of the bands that play on the strip touring groups or house bands? I've toured for the past 25 years and am looking to settle down in one place. Thanks for your help - Dave

Thanks Tom, I checked out their website and it looks like they handle mostly classical musicians; not sure. Still hoping someone out there can tell me who hires musicians to play the casinos. Appreciate the help - Dave

I would recommend that you go to the Palms Casino and hear the Band Santa Fe and the Fat City Horns. Undoubtedly the best musicians in town. The Band is comprised of the top musicians from the Various shows in town. They often have touring members of Headliner Bands sit in with them. Very nice guys. The drummer is a great player and might be able to give you some tips on jobs around town. They play every Monday night as far as I know. They also have a website of the same name.
