New Jersey is the worst for reordering birth certificates, if out of state it takes forever, i've ordered mine about a month ago and still haven't received it, you call them up and they can't even give you a status, yet if you go to the state or visit, they will do it same day and hand it to you, i think its also costing us 25 dollars, i can't remember...

Good catch. Thank you.

The point I was trying to make, and didn't make clearly enough, was that an original hospital birth certificate wasn't sufficient proof of identity.

I need to renew my license in June. Aside from the new license, I've shaved my beard back to a mustache, so they'll have to take a picture of me anyways.

Nevada also recently changed the design of the license...

I hate the new one. It's really flimsy...feels more like laminated paper than plastic. And the design is sort of cheesy.

You pay no state income taxes to support the DMV...cost cutting must come from some place.

jfk, because you are not located here and have no knowledge of local news, your psycho negative jabs at Las Vegas are not only comical, but quite inaccurate.

Our new driver licenses are the new, facial recognition high tec type, used in only some of the states so far, but eventually the whole country will be on this system.

New Driver Licenses Debut in Las Vegas

It's got absolutely nothing to do with us residents not having to pay State income taxes.

oooops....I stand corrected. sorry. So radraja's complaint about design and cheesiness has been offset by hi-tech. NV is in the forefront!

Yeah, you bad jfk!! Now go play in someone else's sandbox! You can come over to MI and play, we could use some good humor!

Besides that, I paid an exorbitant amount for my registration! That should cover mine and my husband's face for a while! In fact, I am still driving with it. I don't want to change it. Paid too much for it and I kinda like being the visitor in this state.
