Yeah Southwest had a special on 12/30 & 12/31 for $69 - $129.00 fares to/from Vegas, but you had to book your flights on those specific days and travel by 3/30. Sometimes they have featured destinations on their website for cheaper fares too. I always check Air Trash/Air Tran for FL, but even they are $119.00 each way plus taxes, comes out to like $260.00 or something. Southwest is normally cheaper to fly on Tues, Wed, and Saturdays.

The companies I book travel for have a restriction on travel as well. At one point they did a freeze for a whole month on travel, except for driving to/from perspective jobs/clients. I had one guy driving from CLE-West Virginia, then to Indianapolis, then Chicago, then Toledo, and then home. Granted, much cheaper than flying, but what a stressful week! lol

Don't get me started on AirTran... without a doubt the worst airline out there.

Ticket Prices are Cheap as HELL right now. I found roundtrip - non-stop to Detroit in September for $238, i paid almost 400 in may of last year and 380 or so for Christmas. Flew to San Fran last weekend for $120 round trip, just screwing and I found Day of flights to San Fran for $97.

What makes me mad is I cant find a flight to Reno 2 weekends from now for less than $190 round trip.

This April, however, the same flight costs anywhere from $578 to $909 which is absolutely ridiculous. I guess we will have to wait to drive out in June.

So it is not only the economy in trouble, the people that want to get to Vegas can't because of the price of flights!
Give me the exact dates you want to fly.

I found $291 for Good flights round trip for the 6th to 12th. Non-stop It aint $248 but its better. I got $254 for the 7th to the 13th (1 layover on the way out, non-stop back home)

Dang, Yeti! That's good. I have been searching for my husband to come to Det. in over Easter and they have been almost $300. or more. 9th - 13th. But he has time restrictions to due to work. And of course prefers nonstop. I am thinking of telling him to come later in the month because it may be cheaper after the holidays?

But-WooHoo! You did good!

I am looking to go see a band in either Salt lake city on the 2nd of April, or in San Francisco on 3-28. I can fly for $120 round trip to either city, but I cant find a Hotel for less than that.

And San Fran will cost more in transportation etc......

Tickets are MUCH cheaper this year than in 2008, including Las Vegas. However, there are NO discounts around PEAK travel times. Chicago-Las Vegas has been $85-99OW several times in the past four weeks.

Airfarewatchdog.com is a tool that I use to find the lowest fare. Sign up for e-mail alerts and 2-3 times a week, they send you an e-mail with all the discounted fares from the regional airports.
