Was there this weekend and traffic and tourist volume in the casinos was noticeably lighter than a few months ago. Thursday and Friday night were scary empty at both the airport and several casinos visited. Was the *only* car in the valet at Green Valley Ranch on a Thursday night at 11PM. The attendant didn't even know we were there and was twiddling his thumbs in the booth looking very bored. Came back out and was still the only car sitting there, he hadn't even bothered to park it. Saturday was bustling at Mandalay Bay and GVR, but not packed like it can be. Sunday at the airport was again scary empty.

Talked to folks working and they said things were noticeably slow and it was hurting them to lose business travelers. Only ones around were those in town for weddings and bachelor parties.

I saw about the same thing this weekend. The airport on Friday night was real busy though, and the MGM was quite crowded as well. Definately not the huge amounts of people that we saw in the past.

I don't know about local casinos, like GVR as jpk stated, but MGM and Mandalay-Luxor-Excalibur sure were busy.

I wonder how their business is weekdays though.

I was at the Eastside Cannery on Boulder Highway/Harmon on saturday night with friends around 8:30p.m, and we had to circle the parking lot a few times to find a spot. Coming out of there at 1am, the parking lot was still packed. Bustling inside and out. Maybe there are less tourists coming out, so try some local places, they are still going strong.

Eastside Cannery does seem to stay pretty busy, I dont make it over there very often, but when I have its always looking to be doing ok. Plus they are doing 2 for 1 nights on hotels when they send out a coupon.

This what I noticed. You say it EXACTLY how I experienced it.

Everyone, if you want to know exactly how your experience will be if you visit today, read the quote above. Saturday is slightly better though.

As of right now, 8:29pm on Monday Vegas time - Freemont street looks crowded.

Wow. And you won't get any of that fallout, will you.

Again, wow! I am just baffled. I was there a month ago and leaving here from Detroit at some ridiculous early hour, the airport was packed. Every window was open for check-in and they had 4 flights leaving at the same time. Didn't check the later ones, maybe it died down after I left. It was nuts, though. This was a Thursday morning.

Came back on Monday afternoon and the same thing. Why if everyone says the airports are empty am I always there when it is so dang crowded?

The check-ins at the casinos we went through were all busy with long lines. Even on a weekday. But I did notice some times were not as busy as in the past.

Oh, and the City Center is still building. My husband goes to work there every night. His roommates go every morning. (At least he says that is where he is going!!)

was just up there tonight....FSE was populated, but not crowded. The nugget was full of people (not packed, but filled).

nobody at the downtown cocktail room, but the griffin had a moderate crowd.

seemed ok for a monday, but i bet most of the ppl on FSE were early arrivals for St. Paddy's....also heard bball might be going on right now.

Judging by our informal poll of where transplants originated, Detroit to LV seems to be quite popular for some reason.
