Try as I may my wife will not move to LV fulltime. Its the grandchildren. She will agree to live there 6 months from Nov.-May. Some of the small 1 BR condos seem very reasonably priced. Does the A/C have to be left on all summer? What are the approx summer elec prices? Pros and cons of renting it out for summer months to well qualified party. TIA

B.

You should leave a bit of AC on. It is bad for the place to be heavily temperature cycled each day. Wall board cracks and other things break.

Set the A/C to 87 or so just to take the top off the temperature swing. Maybe $25 or $30 a month for a small condo. Cheaper by a bit on a bottom floor. Which is also the noisier floor.

More difficult to rent for the summer and some places may restrict rentals. Check before you buy.
