One of the things that is unique in Las Vegas is that the "Beverly Hills" type neighborhoods are scattered throughout the entire valley. And they can be right next to a typically "middle-class" neighborhood as well.

Summerlin and certain areas of Henderson/GV are like the Beverly Hills spots. Red Rock Country Club, Bellacere, Queensridge, TPC, The Ridges are all close together in Summerlin....if you are looking for the Beverly Hills style, I would stay in that area

Lake Las Vegas is the best place I have seen when it came to homes and "Resort" style living. Multi-million dollar homes in there. They do your laundry (pickup service), has a country club, tons of other ammenities, casinos, golf course, mountain views, golf course views, the lake (obviously), private beaches, 24-7 security on your home when you leave (I am not kidding, if you go out of town, they hire a security team to babysit your house until you return!) Parts of it looks like a Tuscan Village too -- with the European Inspired designed condos, townhomes and Single family homes. If I were to live anywhere in Vegas, that would be it. I heard Oprah and Simon Cowell own homes there too! (LOL!)

Lake Las Vegas isn't as alive as it once was, sadly...

Last time I was out there, it resembled a ghost town.

you are correct, i have noticed many stores/restaurants in the village that have closed down, some stores closed for lunch, the casino was empty, it was very sad...

I wouldn't recommend Lake Las Vegas to anyone. There's plenty of foreclosures, granted, but like the kid said, there's plenty of stores that have closed and they're having trouble with the lake itself (plumbing) and who knows what the future will hold with that.
