^ really ? ive had some superb deals from there. anyways, im looking for a laptop hard drive, and some LED's although i think i can get the LED's from radioshack at a decent price. the 2.5 sata hardrives at frys and bestbuy are a little too pricey imo.

I think Compusa went out of business, and that is the reason the Vegas store closed.

I use Fry's or buy it on the net. Have had very good luck on the net.

I generally found CompUSA higher than Fries. Doing Digital cameras I did almost 20% better on the net than Fry's.

I used to use Newark...though I don't know if they are still in business.

Are you looking for used or new laptop harddrives? for used, try surpluscomputers.com or halted electronics in Sunnyvale, CA. Fry's has good deals on new ones when they are on sale (usually fridays or wednesdays in their weekly add). Best buy is overpriced on almost everything unless its a good sale. BTW, I might have a used 40 gb laying around. PM me if your interested.

Uggh, not CrapUSA. They USED to have the occasional good sale but eventually ran themselves out of business. Now they've been bought out by Tiger Direct, which is great if you like buying stuff based on inaccurate information & excessive hype. It's even better if you enjoy the roller coaster ride of wondering whether that big rebate is ever going to arrive <sarcasm mode off>. These days, I avoid CompUSA like the plague cuz of the Tiger Direct connection as there are so many better choices.

Locally, Fry's is your best bet by far. The customer service is horrible, but as long as you know that going in you'll be fine. Their pricing & selection is far better than Best Buy, if you catch them at the right time you can find amazing deals. If you ever choose to build your own computer (or even just do upgrades), you'll be at Fry's more than anywhere else (I am).

If you're looking for, say, a laptop hard drive, your best bet is on the net. First choice is newegg.com, a solid company with great prices on a regular basis. I buy a lot of stuff from them, it comes from their warehouse in California & I usually get it in a day or so - that's with the cheap (or free) shipping.

Next best bet online is Frys.com (they'll often have good sales, some items you can purchase for store pickup). After that, there's zipzoomfly.com, PCMicroStore.com, Meritline.com (for accessories/toner) & monoprice.com (buy ALL your cables there, cheap & reasonable quality).

BTW, I just replaced an 80GB 2.5" SATA drive before it was ever used so it's brand new - if that size would work for you, PM me & we'll see if we can figure out something that works for both of us.
