Just ate at Mi Peru down in Henderson and wanted to give it a positive review. It's got fantastic chicken and seafood, Peruvian beer and wine for us thirsty types, and very friendly service. In these tough times where small places are in danger of folding, I thought it'd be important to toss some love to a little, yet awesome place.

Las Vegas Restaurants
Good restaurants in Las Vegas, not on the Strip:
Mediterranean Food: Market Grille Cafe (both locations, just opened a new one on Lake Mead Boulevard).
Japanese/Sushi: Narita or Yoko (Narita does not have an all you can eat, Yoko does. Both places are great!)
Mexican: Dona Maria Tamales
Full Service/Gourmet: Rosemary's
Breakfast: Bagel Cafe
I don't eat much Italian so I can't list a good eatery.
Have been in Las Vegas 22 years, lots of good restaurants have come and gone -the ones listed above have proven to have stood the test of time.

Don't you think $19.00 per person is kind of pricey for chicken at Mi Peru? Add drinks, tax and tips to that bill and I could have made 5 of the same meals myself.

Where is Narita and Yoko?
I like Rosemary's as well. The whole in the wall, El Burrito (in Sun City on Del Webb) has delicious authentic Mexican food.

We love Mi Peru! That's definitely one of our favorites restaurants. I've never tried their chicken because I'm not a big fan (of chicken in general), but we order their beef and pork dishes, and mussel appetizer regularly (their fried plantains are great too). Once when we were going to order from there, the phone rang and rang and no one answered--I thought they had closed! I was distraught until we drove over there and found out that they were just having problems with their phone. If they ever do go under, that will be a sad day for us indeed.

El Burrito is where we ate our first LV local meal some 13 years ago. It has stayed the same...very good food and service that sometimes rises to adquate.
It is right at corner of Del Webb and Rampart one light north of Lake Mead.
Tried a new one that is pretty nice. Garfields just opened in the Regatta shopping center in the middle of Desert Shores. Now you have Marche Bachus, Garfield's and the Village Pub in there. Garfields has a pretty nice deck overlooking the Lake. Well spritzed so comfortable even in the heat. Pretty good food moderately priced. Has broiled artichokes which are an old favorite and a nice wedge. For hamburgers I would still go to Steiners but the rest of the menu is good.
Garfields can be a little awkward to locate. It is in the southwest corner of that shopping center.

Our first Las Vegas meal was at the cafe at the Wild Wild West. Sadly, it's been replaced by a Denny's. They had one of the best, and cheapest steak dinners in town. I had a twofer (at $9.99, instead of the usual $12.99) one pound NY steak at Terrible's cafe with my sister last night. I've had much better steaks, but the apple pie was pretty good. It would have been better if had been warmed up. I would've had them do it, but I didn't want to wait another two hours. Their service isn't that great.
