Default Moving to Las Vegas

I am planning on moving to Vegas pretty soon with a friend and want to know the best affordable apartments to rent. We want a good neighborhood.

Try searching this forum with your criteria (affordable, safe, whatever).... as you can imagine, this question gets asked a lot and there's a ton of info here already.

If you have any really specific questions, like "where can I get a 3 BR that allows dogs" you may want to ask that, but for general stuff, the search function will be really helpful.

We used Apartment.com when we made our move in order to narrow our search. Then we came to the forum. We provided very specific information about us with our questions.

# of adults # of kids price range area we would work in and anything else we could think of that would give people a good picture of our needs and desires. Then we mentioned which apartments we wanted to consider.

The posters here are extremely helpful when they have a lot of good data to work with to come up with specific recommendations. They also guided us to the search feature on this forum which had many answers to our questions.

Welcome and Good Luck.

Let's see, My friend and I are looking for a 2 bdrm, that allows small dogs, we are both in our 30's...no kids. We are looking for a safe neighborhood within walking distance to public transportation. Our price range is up to $900 per month, more if needed for a nice place.

Tip #1: Don't rely on public transportation. Just don't. It's AWFUL out here.

I agree with radraja. Public transportation in Clark County stinks. As for neighborhoods, I like Henderson/Green Valley, Summerlin, Peccole Ranch and The Lakes.

Do what RedRockAAAA did: Narrow down your choices and ask for advice on the selected apartments.

If transportation is an issue, I'd recommend living as close to work as possible.

Talking Moving to Vegas

I grew up in michigan but have lived in atlanta for the past few years. I am cosidering moving to Las Vegas this december, however. I just need to know where the safe areas to live are, and about jobs. Im an experienced line cook and pastry assistant and was told that if you cook in the casinos, you can make around $17 an hour, is that true? My husband is an installer and I would like to know what the industry is like out there. Any info anyone has would be great!
