I'm new to the area, FWIW, and I would not buy a NLV address. Snob appeal makes money, and that area has none. If it were the only affordable option, I would look, but there are deals in much more desirable areas--Henderson and Summerlin to name two. Impressions are worth a lot. The words "North Las Vegas," give a negative one. I have no doubt that there are some fine homes there.................

I'm sure those area are nice. However, I would not want to be sharing the same pool of resources with a high crime area. I also see that CCSD pays subs 20 Dollars per day more to work in NLV. It's pretty obvious why.

You're way off base with this one and you may not be completely unfamiliar with most areas of NLV.

Jeez, I was looking at this cute house just the other day in the Butterfield subdivision (with my niece), dang, it was all to do to keep from buying it for myself. JUST BEAUTIFUL, CLEAN AND SAFE AREA!!

NORTH Las Vegas!

I have a friend that lives in Sierra Ranch and it is very nice, the parks they built are beautiful there in the neighborhood, the only issue is its proximity to the pig farm, makes it very smelly sometimes...

Guess the wind has to be blowing just right, I've been up there three times already and haven't smelled anything funny yet.

Pay the same bonus in east and downtown Las Vegas. You afraid to live in Las Vegas too?

I expect there are some county areas in the east that also get the hazard pay...so you can't live in the county either.

Looks like Henderson or BC for you...

north las vegas - sierra ranch

my friend lives much closer to 5th and Tropical than the other sections of the community, so the pig farm is only right down the street pretty much and it just smells awful when i go near there

there's an awful smell also off of Donna and Lone Mountain that i smell when i'm at my other friend's house over there, would it be related? arent the Republic Services dumps nearby as well?
