Oh, now I understand you kid. I think you're right about the dump near Donna/Lone Mountain. Another really smelly area is in the Lakes, near the Wells Cargo asphalt facility on Tenya/Spring Mountain.
Man, sometimes you go near there and it smells like rotten eggs.

Charleston and Nellis as long as you are talking about smelly places.....it always smells there. like rotten eggs. i used to think it had something to do with the drainage ditch just off nellis but i dont know. BTW Orange for 89156 is pretty accurate, if not heading towards red. As i spoke of in another post, there was a women murdered across the street and besides how scary that is, the police would not let us return home for over 4 hours and even then, we had to have a police escort to go home

Have you ever checked the crime map for Summerlin? A lot of burglaries and car thefts. The criminals like the so-called nicer area's to rob and they go there often.

You're way off base with this one and you may not be completely unfamiliar with most areas of NLV.
Jeez, I was looking at this cute house just the other day in the Butterfield subdivision (with my niece), dang, it was all to do to keep from buying it for myself. JUST BEAUTIFUL, CLEAN AND SAFE AREA!!

I have been all around Aliante, down to Craig, down to Alexander/MLK, all over the place. Now i don't hang out in those area's after dark, so maybe that's when the real fun begins.
For the times I do go by or through the other neighborhoods, they always "look" perfectly fine, so that is my perception. Sorry you have a bad perception of where you live. If you hate it, consider relocating. I would if I truly hated any place I lived.

There's a difference between
1) crime incidents and
2) always feeling like you're in the wrong place and you should leave, or stay in your car with your doors locked
Which areas are more accurately described by #1 or #2?
Green - Yellow - Orange - Red
(from lowest crime level to highest crime level. red signifies highest crime level)

You should depend on the police crime mapping they would be the most accurate, check out these links to those sites.
Police and Crime Info
Metro Police Department http://www.lvmpd.com/
Metro CrimeView System http://www.lvmpd.com/crimeviewcommunity/
Henderson Police Dept http://www.cityofhenderson.com/police/php/policebody.php
These show where the incidents are and what type of incidents.

Than you go to the police sites for details. It is still difficult. simple things like disregarding the arterials sometimes are very important.
Also the police sites use different methodology which does not directly compare. So it is almost impossible to compare a Henderson address to a Las Vegas one.
Both the crime maps and the police sites have their use...

being only 17, i love this part of town...in a couple months were moving to aliante supposedly though. The only thing I was saying was that if you think that this is a safe part of town, its really not...and I agree with you...its at night when things get crazy though
