Old time real Vegas?? I Love old time real Vegas
The Pamplemousse is unbelievable...as well as Pierros
You also have to try LaScala, this is located on the ground floor of the Mark 1 tower off of Desert Inn and Joe W. Brown. Great piano player and the food is great.
You might want to also try Carluccios, and on Wednesday night Wes Winters plays a tribute to Liberace. The piano bar inside is very Vegas.
Quick bites...the Peppermill is another great option...hang out at the Fireside lounge...(personlly they kind of ruined the atmosphere a bit with all the plasma t.v.'s)
These places will certainly bring you back in time a bit...great places for company to visit for a real old vegas feel.

Get some frozen custard at Luv-It on LV Blvd and Oakey. It's hot out there!

I don't think Robertos is a Vegas chain. Maybe. But I do know I wouldn't eat there. First of all they don't serve authentic Mexican food, they serve crap. Plus they are filthy. They are always getting fined by the health department.

You are right on all counts.I had one of the best meals ever at Pamplemouse. Most of those are a bit pricy, but for special occasions they are great. Haven't been to Peppermill in years, but as I recall they were way too expensive. Is it still that way?

Ohhhh. Forgot about Luv-It ice cream stand. So I guess we do have a Vegas original. They make the ice cream fresh daily and it is delicious. You can stand around the parking lot eating ice cream while watching the strippers come to work next door.

Went here last night:
GAETANO'S RISTORANTE
10271 S. Eastern Ave.
Henderson , NV
Food was excellent, atmosphere was excellent, the owners were super nice. All adults dining, no noisy kids. Will definitely be back again.

Peppermill can be pricy...but the portions are huge and it is open 24hrs a day. We ordered the nachos as an appetizer the other night and it was enough to feed 4 for a meal...honeslty go to share and its not too bad.

You are kidding me...most of my mexican friends will ONLY eat Mexican food at Roberto's because of the authenticity. Roberto's is pretty much limited to Florida, San Diego, and Las Vegas...Hmm, want to back up your story, today in the RJ Taste section I think a location only got a B, doesn't sound like getting fined. Most locations have been clean, maybe you just haven't been in a long time.

Well, maybe they've cleaned up their act after getting so many citations in the past. It has been a while since I ate at one, but they lost me for good back then. Believe me, I know good Mexican food, and theirs was not good, unless you consider McDonalds good hamburgers. Same type of thing. People around here think Macayo Vegas is good too, but it is only mediocre at best. Good Mexican food is what you get at places like Frank and Fina's Cocina on W. Flamingo, or Garduños in the two Fiestas and the Palms. Too bad Garduños hasn't opened any stand alone locations like they have in New Mexico so that you don't have to put up with casino crowds. Garduños also had a dinner in Albuquerque called YesterDave's that I had hoped they would bring here too, but they closed the one over there for some reason. It wasn't because the food was bad though, and it was always crowded. One of the best Mexican restaurants in Las Vegas is probably the oldest...El Sombrero on Main Street. Haven't been there in a long time so I hope it is still good. It's just a little hole in the wall, but those are usually the best ones down on the border, and in Mexico. El Burrito on Del Webb and Rampart is very good too, but not as good as Garduños or Frank and Fina's. If you ever get to Laredo, Texas, just about any place you go will be the best you ever had.
