The closest commute in a nice area would probably be the Silverado Ranch area. And maybe South Strip.

Summerlin can be 40+ minutes in traffic. The more vibrant areas of Henderson can be 30+ minutes in traffic. So those might be rough if you're looking for a short commute.

Parkside Villas off of S Maryland Pkwy & Wigwam. Nice area; one of the best apt complexes I've lived in. Let me know if you check it out; speak with Chanell.

Planning a move to Las Vegas in 2012, starting to research.
Any suggestions where a quiet lesbian couple in there 40's would fit in. Looking to live within 15 minutes from the strip, we have a 9lb dog. looking for 2brm with pool, gym, laundry in apt.,
We both drive taxi now and would be looking to find driving jobs.

I am in the process of trying to move to Vegas. I am having the hardest time finding a good place to live - it seems there are so many options! Ideally, I would love a 10-20min. commute (max) to the strip for work - or if there is a bus line, that would work too. I'm 25 and have a dog, so I would ideally like to NOT live in a highrise. I LOVE the outdoors..I'm coming from Colorado and hike, bike, etc. I only want to spend about $800/m but I will do more if some utilities are included. Amenities...granite, stainless, wood floors, pool (community pool fine - or private haaha). 1 or 2br.. not too picky there.
Any suggestions of areas AND good complexes I can take a look at? I would REALLY appreciate the insight!

Thanks,
Jenny
You already found work from out of town? Which field? That's impressive!

The advice that you get now can drastically change in 2 years. But at least you are planning early.
