Probably. Wood furniture may dry & crack & split. Just set it to, say, 85, and pay your electric bill.

If you like, buy some Berkshire Hathaway (BRK-B), as they own NV Energy. That way, you're hedging your bill. https://finance.yahoo.com/echarts?s=BRK-B

Depends upon the age, construction of the house and other variables like solar screens. I leave my AC off for the Summer if I'm not home and there is no problem. I put gallon bottles of water in each room to provide some water vapor. Note: I have a very efficient refrigerator. If you have an older one best to empty it and unplug it since it can crank out a lot of heat when the inside temperature goes up.

I have used these Honeywell thermostats now for several years while I am out of town and have had really good luck with them. Of course you need wifi on to use them but since I have wifi for my security cameras it's not a problem.

I have found them to be very accurate and also it's easy to change the temperature.
