Once you get north of Craig Road, North Las Vegas is generally OK. North Las Vegas isn't automatically all bad.

Las Vegas has always been an "open" town----no one group is dominant, or controls the city, whether it be mafia gangs, ms, crips, or asians.

This valley has nearly 2 million people, of course there are Asian gangs here.

You are correct. This area is ground-zero for prostitution, extortion, loan sharking, human trafficking, and drugs.

They are here, but the Asian population is still low compared to hipanics, whites and blacks. They are very low key compared to CA. These are the most organized, but they are also not paying dues to a large prison gang, so they are more careful not to go to prison because they have no protection and they will be dead in a few days. I haven't heard any gang murders that had any Asian gang connection except for the food court incident a few years ago.

Asian gangs are much lower profile than others. I can assure you, any, and all facets of Asian culture that exist in LA are in LV, but go unseen by the masses due to language, and cultural differences. There are hundreds of "underground" brothels in LV. Currently, runned, staffed, and patronized by Asians. Where they got into trouble-------"operation doll house", was to go after the "anglo", and tourist dollars; too large to ignore. As long as, they keep Asian business, Asian, we are not likely to hear much.

This is true, they keep to themselves and impact only other Asians really. In San Francisco, they have the gangs in China Town and they really do not venture out of the Chinese community. I really do not consider them street thugs that do drive-by shootings and random acts of violence to other races. Maybe that is why they seem so low key.

It seems gangs always start with crime in their own ethnic group, and the trouble seems to start when they "branch out"; I guess the lure of growth dollars is irresistable. Of course, LV is MUCH smaller than LA, but I assure you, every aspect, whether it be Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, that exists in LA is here in LV.

Some of the most dangerous street asian gangs in the Bay Area were the Cambodians and Laotians. They were street thugs and were gang bangers (did drive bys and street type crimes). I think the organized Chinese are more Triad like and not really fall into a danger to those outside their influences. Have you heard any violent crimes commited by the Triads or Yakuza in Las Vegas? Or if they were againts other ethnic groups? The Asian population is still very small here though. I don't think I've even met a Cambodian here in Vegas. Heck, Japanese are even rare here, all the Japanese restaurants are owned by Koreans.
