I'm moving from CA to LV soon for a new job and get my family out of a bad area. Worried about gang influence on my son. Are there Asian gangs present in Las Vegas?

Don't think so. Though it is occassionally rumored we have gangs of cross dressing gays who attack with hair pins at fancy restaurants.

Call metro. Get to the gang unit. They will know. The asian population is not large here...so I think it unlikely,.

Got some hulking big Samoans but they are rumored to be nice folk.

There are gangs but it is just not the level seen in CA.

There are Aisian gangs in Las Vegas, lots of them. There is also a large population of Asians living in the Las Vegas area, primarily in and around Spring Valley (southwest Las Vegas). Check out Spring Mountain Rd. in Spring Valley. Do you remember reading about the Asian prostitution rings that are periodically broken up in that area? This valley has nearly 2 million people, of course there are Asian gangs here.

There are gangs in every major city in the country and even in smaller rural cities. So I would say that there are gangs of all type, although I would say that most gangs there are Hispanic. You can't really get away from them. You have to hope you do your best to warn your kids against them and try to keep them away from those people that are in them. Just be involved in your kids life. Know who they hang out with, where they are going, what they are doing, etc.

That is chinatown...which does not have a particularly asian population. That area is around 7 or 8% asian. Hard core Summerlin is about 5%.

The prostition rings almost all involve ladies imported from Korea or the Phillipines and are not obviously gang connected.

There may well be asian gangs...but it is not obvious. May even be a Mormon gang...who knows.

There's also a large population of Asians along Maryland Parkway, East Sahara, and East Charleston.

Again they are about 5% of that zip. Unless they all live in a narrow area there is no particular concentration there.
