There use to be over 24,000 realtors in Clark county which takes in Las Vegas, Henderson and North Las Vegas.

Because of the housing down turn the numbers are lower.
Clark county has 13,383 active realtors 3236 inactive realtors.
Clark county has 1748 Active brokers and 6436 inactive brokers.
Clark county has 2163 activie Broker-salespersons
Clark county has 740 inactive Broker-sales persons

These statistics are from Winter 2008-2009 the new stats are not out yet. I hope this answers your question.

However active Real Estate Agents is a good bit lower. Someplace around 2,000 have two or more transactions in the last year.

You can't swing a dead cat in LV without hitting a realtor- and if you did manage to, you'd hit a lawyer.

Olecapt had addressed that issue last week saying what he again said above; 2000 active realtors with sales of two or more per year. That is a very small percentage for the population of LV. As far as what does inactive mean, it means there are many others who have obtained their real estate license but are not actively pusueing the real estate business. I'm not totally up to date on Nevada law but in Ohio where I still am, to be counted as "inactive," one must have their license escrowed with a practicing broker and stay current on CE hours. If not meeting that criteria, one could have a license but not even be considered a realtor.
