Exclamation Dealyed a little...is this a crazy idea?

So this sounds a little crazy and that's why I'm asking here. ...We've had few delays...We were supposed to move by the end of the month but the closing on his mom's estate pushed back one week. So not until the end of May. ,,,
It will cost about $1600 to go out last minute (less than 2 weeks notice for airlines) for just about 24 hours to look at places and pick out one.

He suggests just packing up the UHAUL and attempting to rent a place asap as soon as we get there. The dog and cat can stay in a kennel until we find one. Many listings say asap. He thinks that those that were available for June 1 and are not rented we might be able to negotiate a little on the rent/move-in.

Of course, not knowing makes me nervous but on the other hand there seems to be a problems with us trying to make appts a week in advance. They seem to cancel b/c they've been rented before we can get out there.

Just looking for some feedback. Thanks.....

So many vacancies right now that someone will take a chance on you, even a first/last should be sufficient. Not too hard for a professional who follows the process correctly to evict someone for non-payment so the risk/reward is fine.

Not to rain on your parade or tell you that you can't realize your goals, but poker pros are drying up fast here as a lot of people are trying to do it thanks to lost jobs and few are winning. Compound that with most massage therapists having trouble making ends meet and being propositioned by half their customers, I can't imagine life getting better coming out here. Thousands try it, a few dozen might make it 2 years, a few might make it a decade. Just the hard facts.
