I work at that school and see children coming and going with all kinds of awful sounding symptoms. I'm flabbergasted at the parents who just let their children go to school when they are so ill. Instead of blaming the 5th largest district in the country (hello red tape bureaucracy! I mean really...what can we expect!?!?!) for not notifying the ENTIRE parental population of Clark County about ONE flu case that is ALREADY over with, why not be upset at any parent that would allow his/her child to attend school when sick? Oh, and we don't even know...perhaps this child's parents actually DID the responsible thing and kept him home, and the only real story we have is that a child who is a registered student at Findlay Middle School contacted the flu, stayed home, and got better. You want the district to waste its money AND its teachers' time (because guess who gets to tell all the kiddies to take home all this info to mom and dad? The teachers!) to tell them that?? By the way, I can't tell you how many times the district has made us send the kids home with all kinds of paperwork like this to cover themselves, and all it does it litter our hallways and classrooms even more than they already are. Parents: keep your kids home when they are sick, teach them to throw stuff away, and BLAME yourselves more often; the district IS NOT your kids' parents! You are!
