Second best...can't quite take Miller.

I would think you could easily find a reasonable outcome between Leavitt, Cadawaller and Escobedo. Leavitt is the best of the set by a little But both Leavitt and Cadawaller are in the top 10 out of about 55. Escobedo is new and coming along. .

And if you are going to be here long enough I would rather send a kid to Arbor View or Centennial. They simply can't get a handle on the over crowding at Palo Verde.

Either school buys hobby 30 or 40 minutes a day. He can spend part of it tutoring the kid.

I do a couple of military families every year. Nothing wrong with Summerlin but mostly you will find a much better deal and a better blend into the community in the NW.

I don't really live in either...but rather between them. Anid I like them both.

Still the NW is younger family oriented, has more military and tends to be more in formation. Summerlin, particualrly the older parts, is well established. That is good and bad.

Instead of rushing into buying a home you might end up not liking, why don't you rent for a while and get to know the area before making a commitment? You will probably prefer the NW, and it would shorten the commute quite a bit.

It sounds nice to rent, but the military will only pay to move us once. After that, it is all out of our pocket and sadly not something we could easily afford considering we move every couple of years. In light of the fact that we are returning from a tour in South Korea, we wouldn't be able to pack up a few pots and pans and essentially camp out for a couple of months while we scope out the different parts of Las Vegas.

We have to be able to set up house and make it a home inside of a few days to help ensure stability for the midget types and sanity for ourselves. We are buying a house in LV because we're a few years out from retirement and have considered returning to the area then to live within driving distance of family in California. Either way, we won't be looking to sell the home we purchase when it's time to move again in a couple of years so it should make for a sound investment in the long run.

Naturally we want the best possible education for our children... we haven't ruled out private schools but can't afford places like The Meadows and Challenger. It's nice that we have options and will have a week or so to visit the different schools and gauge the various commute times before we actually put in an offer. Some friends at our last assignment bought a home sight unseen. Now that gives me nightmares just thinking about it....
