Please read before posting in the Las Vegas Subforum...
Before you post:
Please remember to stay on-topic. Per the TOS, hijacking a thread or being off-topic is not allowed. We would like everyone to chat in the Official Chat Thread, which is also stickied or to send DMs.

Also, please keep all real estate related posts in http://www.city-data.com/forum/las-v...rket-part.html
To help the members of the Las Vegas subforum to answer your questions, please answer these when posting a new thread and also use the search function to find questions that may have been answered already: Thanks to the Philly forum and other posters for the idea of a similar thread…

I also want to add that any discussions pertaining to personal matters involving forum members or local events that might not be of interest to others outside the social circle of the members participating in the Las Vegas sub-forum, I'm sure would be welcome in Pink String's Las Vegas Social Group.
Social Groups here at City-Data Forums provide a great opportunity to keep in touch with each other pertaining to local meet-ups or get-togethers as well as keeping abreast of members' personal and family activities. We encourage everyone to take advantage of this feature associated with the C-D forums.
And another reminder is an additional feature of our forum ...the personal BLOGs. Any member can start a BLOG here at C-D forums to inform others of their activities or philosophies. We encourage the use of this feature too!
And not to sound like a broken record but let's all endeavor to keep the threads in the LV sub-forum germane and pertinent to issues regarding relocation, visitation, or resources to new transplants to the Las Vegas area. This is the primary premise and focus of C-D forums. As pointed out, our administrators have provided plenty of mechanisms for socializing. Let's keep as much of the "chat room-type" activity out of the threads and channeled into the sticky chat thread, the social group, or personal BLOGs.
A reminder to all new members, please review our Terms of Service before posting; especially the part which pertains to doing a search:
Quote:
Please use the Search this Forum tool to find info you need, as much has already been written about schools, jobs, weather, crime, prices, rentals, walkability and other aspects of a location. If you don't find it, please sign in and ask your questions. New users should use the Search this Forum tool before posting a question that may have already been answered. Let us know that you have searched the forums, so we don't assume otherwise.
When asking questions about a location, give as much detail as you can, so we can zero in on the info you need. If house hunting, what is your price level or rental amount. How many BR's, Baths, square feet, lot size, etc, do you need? Pets? SFH, TH, Condo, mobile home? In-town, rural, college town, military town, mountains? Schools for children? Gated community, golf course community, active senior community? Do you need to stable a horse? Is there an RV or boat trailer to consider? The more you tell us, the sooner our regular posters can reply with specificity. Same for any other criteria you have. Please avoid open-ended requests like "I'm moving to your city, tell me EVERYTHING I need to know."
All posts unrelated to local matters will be deleted or moved. Threads dealing with controversial topics that often degenerate into flame wars, such as politics or religion, may be moved, closed, or deleted by moderators at their discretion without any warning to the participants.
