I suspect from your alias that your comfortable with firearms. If you can tolerate the testosterone level, you might want to make a trip to a local gun range. More often than not, the demographic is overwhelmingly male and the guys are usually fairly eager to offer help and advice (solicited or not). It's not one of the typical places to meet someone, but it's a thought.

Hey, thanks everyone!

I'm gonna be hitting the gun range sometime this weekend, hopefully that'll help out I found a church I like this week and I'm looking forward to meeting the college-age group on Sunday. I start my internship Monday, we'll see how it goes.
